Mine Backfill Engineer

About the role

Liontown Resources is expanding its underground operations at the Kathleen Valley Lithium Mine in Western Australia. The Mine Backfill Engineer will join a growing backfill team, gaining hands‑on experience in paste‑fill activities while supporting safe and efficient mining production.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Senior Backfill Engineers and the underground paste crew with daily production reporting and schedule alignment.
• Generate paste‑fill notes, work instructions, and ensure they meet site standards and technical design.
• Monitor the condition and performance of paste‑fill infrastructure, confirming compliance with engineering specifications.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost safety, efficiency, and overall performance of underground paste operations.
• Maintain statutory records and ensure documentation satisfies regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining, Mechanical, Geotechnical or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately two years of underground mining experience.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work well within a team.
• Current ‘C’ Class Western Australian driver’s licence.
• Willingness to learn paste‑fill processes; prior exposure is a plus but not mandatory.
