Mid-level Software Engineer (Sydney)

About the role

We are looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join Manhattan Talent’s growing engineering team in Sydney. You will help build and enhance our core product, working closely with designers, product managers and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software that impacts our users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend and/or frontend features.
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Contribute to technical planning, architecture discussions and roadmap decisions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, TypeScript, Go or Java.
• Experience with web frameworks, REST APIs and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and system design.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
