Mid-Level DevOps Software Engineer
Gameloft · Brisbane
Job description
About the role
We are seeking a mid‑level DevOps Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that powers our game development pipeline. You will collaborate with programmers, technical artists, and QA to ensure fast, reliable, and painless build systems, allowing the team to focus on creating great games.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multi‑platform game builds (PC, console, mobile).
- Manage and optimise build farms, automated build systems, and nightly/CI processes.
- Maintain source‑control infrastructure (Perforce, Git/Git LFS), including branching strategies and performance tuning.
- Automate packaging, deployment, and distribution to storefronts (Steam, console certification tools, app stores) and internal QA builds.
- Monitor pipeline health, diagnose failures, and reduce build iteration times.
- Support and improve automated testing infrastructure (smoke tests, regression suites, crash reporting).
- Manage cloud and on‑premise resources (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker) for build servers and live‑ops tooling.
- Write and maintain internal tools and scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline developer workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering leads to define infrastructure needs for upcoming projects.
- Own incident response for pipeline outages, conduct root‑cause analysis, and produce post‑mortems.
Required profile
- 2‑3 years of experience in DevOps, build engineering, or related infrastructure roles (game‑industry experience a strong plus).
- Strong scripting or programming ability (Python, C#, Bash, PowerShell).
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Hands‑on experience managing version‑control systems at scale, especially Perforce and/or Git with LFS.
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
