Mental Health Triage Clinician

About the role

Goulburn Valley Health is recruiting a Mental Health Triage Clinician for its Enhanced Triage Service, a telephone-based triage service that is one of two entry points into the Mental Health Program. The service routes referrals to the Adult, Child and Adolescent (CAMHS) and aged mental health services and other mental health programs, and is central to the initial engagement and assessment of clients. The position is based at the Graham Street Campus in Shepparton.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based screening and assessment overnight to help clients address their mental health concerns and reduce symptoms.
• Apply the mental health triage scale to scenarios and develop management plans that include risk and safety plans and appropriate referral pathways.
• Ensure the triage service runs efficiently and builds strong relationships with clients so they have access to appropriate treatment and advice.

Required profile

• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Grade 4, years 1-3), Social Worker (Grade 4, years 1-4), Occupational Therapist (Grade 4, years 1-4) or Psychologist (Grade 3, years 1-4).
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, with clear written and verbal communication and sound conflict resolution skills.
• A client-centred approach and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

What we offer

• Salary range of $108,279 - $134,523.
• Relocation support: intrastate up to $2,500, interstate up to $5,000, overseas up to $8,000, plus accommodation support of up to $350 per week for up to 10 weeks or interim accommodation.
