Mental Health Clinician - Community Walk-In Clinic

About the role

A community-based, walk-in mental health service in the Wide Bay region of Queensland is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician. The role sits within a collaborative multidisciplinary team and supports people across a wide range of mental health presentations, from general challenges to more complex ones. Flexible permanent full-time or part-time hours, Monday to Friday, are available.

Key responsibilities

• Complete mental health assessments and identify individual needs
• Deliver short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions and talk-based therapies
• Manage a varied caseload, including clients with complex presentations
• Develop support plans and referral pathways
• Work with clinicians and peer support workers to provide person-centred care
• Support clients who may use the service for around three to six months

Required profile

• Recognised Social Work qualification eligible for AASW membership, or a Psychology qualification with current AHPRA registration
• Strong experience in mental health services and delivering therapeutic interventions, especially talk-based therapies
• Comfortable working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse clients

Required skills

• Evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Assessment, clinical reasoning and risk management
• Talk-based therapy delivery

What we offer

• Salary up to $120,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
