Medical Technician - Sleep & Respiratory

About the role

Join Sleepscope, part of Scope Healthcare, as a Medical Technician in Melbourne. You will perform lung function tests and set up patients for home sleep studies across multiple clinics, providing hands‑on, patient‑facing support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lung function tests, including spirometry, to ANZSRS standards and coach patients through breathing efforts.
• Fit and explain home sleep study equipment, manage its return, and download recordings.
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Enter results and patient details in HealthTrack while maintaining privacy compliance.
• Clean, calibrate and check testing and sleep study equipment before each use.
• Communicate any unusual test results to scientists for review.

Required profile

• Study in science, health or a related field; recent graduates and current students are welcome.
• Clear communication skills with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Full working rights in Australia and a current driver’s licence.
• Working with Children Check and police check required before start.

Required skills

• Experience with lung function testing equipment (spirometry).
• Familiarity with HealthTrack or similar healthcare software.
• Current CPR certification (highly regarded).
