Medical Receptionist

About the role

South Coast Radiology (part of the IDX Group), the largest radiology provider on the Gold Coast, is looking for a flexible and motivated Medical Receptionist. The role can be based at the Southern Hub (John Flynn Hospital, Tweed Heads and the Nuclear Medicine Centre) or the Northern Hub (Pindara Hospital and Benowa). It suits someone who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments and likes meeting new people.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and check in patients
• Answer phones and manage email enquiries
• Book and reschedule appointments using the RIS system (Karisma)
• Advise patients on preparation requirements
• Quote fees and process payments
• Handle DVA and third-party claims
• Support clinical teams in providing smooth, efficient patient care

Required profile

• Warm, professional and approachable personality
• Proven experience in reception, healthcare or customer-facing roles (radiology experience a bonus)
• Strong attention to detail and calm under pressure
• Flexibility to work across multiple locations
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Proactive, willing to learn, confident with computer systems and able to manage several tasks at once
