Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Shift)

About the role

Vanderlande is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician (shift) for a full-time on-site position at Sydney International Airport. The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance of a baggage handling system that includes automated storage cranes and special transport systems, with 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 roster.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of all mechanical systems and equipment
• Perform mechanical maintenance inspections
• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems and components
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards
• Conduct fault finding on automated systems
• Use data analytics to improve system performance
• Provide technical support to customers

Required profile

• Australian Trade qualification with a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical, with 3 to 5 years of post-trade experience as a service technician
• Strong mechanical background on industrial automated equipment
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Highly regarded: dual trade certificate (electrical and mechanical)
• Highly regarded: experience in logistics, postal sorting and baggage handling systems, and with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Highly regarded: experience with automation such as conveyors and sortation systems
