Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Fixed Plant)

About the role

A major long-life Pilbara operation is looking for a mechanical maintenance engineer for fixed plant. The aim is less downtime, more throughput and a safer site. You will back up maintenance and operations with fault-finding, repair scoping and shutdown support, and lead defect elimination and reliability improvements. The roster is 8:6 days, 12-hour shifts, site-based, and the position is a contract.

Key responsibilities

• Back up maintenance and operations with fault-finding, repair scoping and shutdown support
• Review inspection reports and run fitness-for-service assessments
• Lead Defect Elimination, including root cause analysis, failure investigations and lasting fixes
• Write repair specs and maintenance strategies that improve equipment availability
• Support equipment upgrades and change management, including drawings, reports and documentation
• Contribute SME input to future expansion and improvement projects
• Help with procurement, direct contractors and agree priorities with the planning team

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
• 5+ years in a processing plant or fixed plant environment
• Hands-on experience with RCA, defect elimination, reliability improvement and shutdown work
• Strong safety mindset and a practical, straight-talking style on site

Nice to have

• Reliability Engineering or Project Management qualifications
• RAMS exposure (FMECA / RBM modelling)
