Mechanical Fitter / HVAC Technician

About the role

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join its Engineering team. You will maintain and repair HVAC systems, mechanical plant and associated building services so that hospital facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently, helping to minimise downtime and support critical hospital infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems, mechanical plant and building services
• Diagnose faults and repair equipment such as air handling units, chillers, boilers, pumps and related systems
• Monitor and optimise Building Management Systems (BMS) and plant performance
• Assist with mechanical projects, plant upgrades and contractor coordination
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement
• Work an after-hours on-call roster and provide breakdown support
• Work with the Engineering team to keep the hospital safe, compliant and well maintained

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or HVAC Technician
• Minimum four years' experience in a similar role
• Experience maintaining HVAC systems and mechanical building services in a commercial environment
• Previous experience in a hospital or large commercial environment and working knowledge of BMS highly regarded
• Availability to work the after-hours on-call roster

What we offer

• Salary of $76,687 to $95,285 plus 12.5% superannuation
• Permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week
