Mechanical Engineer – Perth Regional Field Services

About the role

Join the Perth Regional Field Services (PRFS) team to deliver reliable operations and maintenance for water, wastewater and drainage assets across the Perth metropolitan area. Based in Canning Vale, you will act as a specialist mechanical consultant, supporting both existing asset reliability and the delivery of new infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical expertise to the PRFS team for asset maintenance, reliability and incident management.
• Support the delivery of new mechanical assets, preparing technical reports on performance and issues.
• Review routine maintenance plans, quantify risks and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical assets.
• Communicate best‑practice engineering and reliability standards across the region.
• Serve as a centre of expertise for mechanical plant repair, refurbishment and condition‑based monitoring.
• Identify significant asset failures and conduct root‑cause analysis using CBM and risk‑management frameworks.

Required profile

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in maintenance support and asset enhancement for water, wastewater or drainage systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and provide technical advice.
