Mechanical Engineer

About the role

A skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer is sought to join an engineering team in Australia. The role covers the design, development, analysis, testing and improvement of mechanical systems and equipment, from concept through to implementation. It suits someone who enjoys solving technical problems and working with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, systems and equipment
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis and simulations where required
• Support development, testing, commissioning and improvement of mechanical systems
• Identify technical issues and develop practical engineering solutions
• Work with electrical, civil, manufacturing and project teams
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards, specifications and project requirements
• Take part in design reviews, risk assessments and technical evaluations
• Assist with project planning, cost estimation and technical reporting
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering principles
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Knowledge of relevant Australian engineering standards and workplace requirements is desirable
• Legal right to work in Australia or an appropriate Australian work visa; sponsorship or relocation support is only offered if genuinely available

Required skills

• Experience with engineering design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor
• Preferred: mechanical design and product development, CAD and 3D modelling, engineering analysis, project coordination, technical documentation, manufacturing or production processes, and continuous improvement
