Mechanical Engineer II – Hypersonic Vehicles

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to lead the design and analysis of structures and mechanical systems for cutting‑edge hypersonic vehicles. You will work within a high‑performing engineering team to ensure mechanical integrity and performance throughout the development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse mechanical structures and systems for hypersonic aircraft.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to verify structural integrity, performance and reliability.
• Utilise advanced simulation and analysis tools to assess performance under varied operating conditions.
• Contribute to technology development and process improvements that boost vehicle capability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, external partners and suppliers as required.
• Support a safe, high‑performance engineering environment and assume accountability for team outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical systems design and simulation within the aerospace sector.
• Proven ability to obtain any necessary security clearance or background checks.
• Legal right to live and work in Australia.
