About the role
The Mechanic will maintain, service and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment essential to Cooinda Lodge’s daily operations in Kakadu National Park.
Key responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on ride‑on lawnmowers, landscaping equipment, troop carriers, passenger vans, 30+ seat tourism boats, 4x4 off‑road buses, golf buggies and generators up to 550 kW.
- Ensure all assets meet safety standards and remain reliable for guest services and site operations.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in remote or tourism environments.
- Valid driver’s licence; heavy‑vehicle endorsement preferred.
Required skills
- Certification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or Diesel Mechanics (preferred).
- Ability to diagnose and repair diesel, small gasoline and marine engines.
- Experience with small engine repair, marine mechanics and generator maintenance.
