Material Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Material Planner to support major shipbuilding programmes at our Henderson shipyard. The role ensures the right materials are available at the right time, keeping production flowing efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages and forecast demand.
• Coordinate with procurement to expedite critical items and track material status from order to delivery.
• Work closely with production teams to prioritise and sequence material requirements.
• Identify risks and implement solutions to prevent delays.
• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems.

Required profile

• Experience in material planning, supply chain or logistics, preferably in shipbuilding, construction, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong organisational and critical-thinking abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Previous experience on defence or large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of inventory optimisation and demand planning.
• APICS or equivalent supply-chain certification.
