Material Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Material Planner to manage the scheduling, issuing and coordination of raw and packaging materials for our Dandenong South manufacturing site. The role supports production planning, ensures timely inbound deliveries and helps maintain compliance to schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Raise purchase orders for raw and packaging material requirements based on MRP outputs and optimise daily vendor deliveries to meet production schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams (production, procurement, stores, logistics, business development) and external partners (vendors, transportation) to secure reliable material supply.
• Communicate with vendors, monitor order status and track delivery‑in‑full‑on‑time (DIFOT) performance.
• Escalate supplier issues to the Materials Manager and Procurement as needed to maintain compliance to plant CTS.
• Identify risks and opportunities in medium‑term supply plans and drive proactive dialogue and escalation.
• Propose and implement changes to item master data (lead time, safety stock, lot sizes) to improve inventory turnover and schedule adherence.
• Apply Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) methodologies and standard work processes.
• Participate in supply‑network activities and lead projects aimed at supply‑chain loss analysis and elimination.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, inventory control, procurement or supply‑chain functions.
• Background in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment, preferably food production.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage data and drive continuous improvement.

• Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) methodology.
