Marine Engineer (MED I) – Ocean-Grown Barramundi Farm

About the role

Join Tassal as a Marine Engineer on the Karribi vessel operating at Cone Bay Island, the only ocean‑grown barramundi farm in Australia. Reporting to the Skipper, you will oversee daily vessel operations, perform routine machinery maintenance, and occasionally support land‑based maintenance projects, all while enjoying an even‑time roster for work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance to minimise unscheduled downtime of vessel machinery.
• Execute start‑up and shut‑down checks and procedures safely and efficiently.
• Maintain vessel cleanliness, focusing on engine rooms and deck machinery.
• Assist with general farm duties as directed by the Skipper.

Required profile

• Valid MED I ticket (essential).
• Relevant marine engineering experience.
• Master 4 or 5 qualification (desirable).
• Strong communication, self‑management, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical, alcohol and drug test.
• Full‑time working rights in Australia.
