Manufacturing Engineer – New Product Introduction

About the role

Hullbot is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) to transition robotic hull‑cleaning modules from prototype to high‑volume production. You will work closely with R&D, mechanical, electrical and quality teams to create repeatable, scalable manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Convert R&D designs into robust, repeatable manufacturing workflows.
• Design and specify jigs, fixtures, and tooling for production builds.
• Identify and resolve design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) issues, feeding improvements back to designers.
• Own and optimise CNC machines and multi‑axis robot arms on the production line.
• Program, set up and manage automated dispensing equipment for processes such as potting, sealing and bonding.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation and quality checkpoints.
• Drive continuous improvement in cycle time, cost, consistency and first‑pass yield as volumes scale.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Proven track record taking a design from prototype to repeatable, scaled production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances and material considerations.
• Experience working in a production environment with CNC machines and robot arms.

Required skills

• SolidWorks, Onshape, Fusion 360 or NX (3D CAD for tooling and fixtures).
• CNC programming and operation.
• Multi‑axis robot arm integration and programming.
• Automated dispensing equipment setup and control.
• Design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) analysis.
