Manager – Water Infrastructure

About the role

SMEC is seeking a high‑performing water professional to lead its Sydney water infrastructure business. This senior position offers ownership of the practice, responsibility for growth, and the chance to work on iconic projects locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, win and deliver water infrastructure projects across the region.
• Drive business development through client relationship management and industry profiling.
• Manage commercial performance, resourcing, retention and professional development of the team.
• Provide project‑level input and review to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.

Required profile

• Chartered Professional Engineer with a tertiary engineering qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in water infrastructure.
• Proven track record in design and project‑management within a consultancy environment.
• Ability to prepare successful proposals and high‑standard technical reports.
