Manager - Transaction Diligence, Financial Services

About the role

EY Parthenon's Transaction Diligence team advises corporates, private equity investors and governments on investment decisions. It is looking for an experienced Manager to join its Financial Services, Transaction Diligence team, based in Melbourne and Sydney. You will deliver financial due diligence on acquisitions and disposals for private equity investors, corporates and lenders, working on buy-side and sell-side engagements. The role is hybrid and can be adjusted to reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver financial due diligence engagements on acquisitions and disposals for private equity investors and strategic corporate buyers.
• Own and review detailed analysis of historical and forecast financial performance, including quality of earnings, working capital, cash flow dynamics and key commercial drivers.
• Conduct and lead management interviews, assess assumptions and identify deal-critical risks, upside opportunities and value creation levers.
• Translate complex financial analysis into clear, decision-useful insights that influence valuation, deal structure and investment decisions.
• Prepare and review executive-level deliverables such as diligence reports, investment committee materials and board-ready summaries.
• Manage engagement economics, timelines and stakeholders, and coordinate cross-functional EY teams (strategy, tax, modelling, SPA, integration).
• Coach and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, finance or economics preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in Transaction Services, Financial Due Diligence, M&A advisory or corporate finance.
• Demonstrated experience delivering buy-side and/or sell-side FDD engagements, with exposure to private equity and complex transactions.
• Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or an international equivalent.
• Experience in transaction-focused roles is preferred; those who started in audit are welcome but should have hands-on FDD experience.
