Manager / Senior Manager - Corporate Tax, Financial Services

About the role

EY is looking for a Manager or Senior Manager to join its Financial Services Tax team in Melbourne, as part of a growing Financial Services practice. The team works with clients in banking, wealth and asset management, insurance and superannuation, and collaborates with colleagues across Australia. It is a hybrid position, and roles can be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Long-term career progression, including a pathway towards Partnership, is available.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of client engagements while supporting the development of people and the broader practice.
• Provide Australian income tax advisory and compliance services to clients in banking, wealth management, asset management, superannuation and insurance.
• Advise a portfolio of financial services clients on complex tax matters, including compliance, provisions and strategic tax advice.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and contributing to business development.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, ensuring high-quality delivery and supporting capability uplift across the team.

Required profile

• Experience in the financial services industry with Australian corporate tax and/or fund tax exposure, ideally gained in professional services or industry.
• Strong leadership capability, with the ability to influence, develop and inspire others.
• Commercial mindset and strong strategic thinking, able to operate beyond day-to-day technical delivery.
• Nice to have: experience managing multiple complex engagements, strong client-facing skills, and a CA or equivalent qualification.
