Manager, Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

Avant, Australia's largest medical defence organisation, is seeking a Manager of Procurement & Supplier Management to work closely with business units and project teams. The role provides hands-on support and guidance on procurement sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality and service levels, while keeping supplier management, due diligence and reporting compliant with regulatory requirements such as APRA CPS 230.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic sourcing from development through contract and commercial negotiations and award
• Help maintain supplier governance, due diligence and performance management, including APRA CPS 230 compliance
• Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the vendor management system
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, identify value and cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favourable terms and pricing
• Establish performance standards and evaluation processes to assess supplier activity, including progress, results, satisfaction, value and cost
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including CPS 230
• Support the design and implementation of end-to-end vendor management and procurement systems, and drive continuous improvement of the procurement framework, policies and supplier templates
• Act as a trusted advisor on risk-related procurement and supplier risk initiatives

Required profile

• Strong experience in procurement concepts, processes, activities and strategies
• Solid negotiation and category management skills
• Experience with supplier governance and APRA CPS 230
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence constructively
• 7+ years of procurement experience preferred
• Financial services experience highly beneficial
