About the role

The Queensland Pharmacy Business Ownership Council is seeking a Manager, Licensing and Compliance to lead the licensing scheme for pharmacy business ownership. This position operates in a start‑up environment, offering the chance to shape a modern regulator that safeguards professional, safe, and competent pharmacy services across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team processing high volumes of pharmacy business licence applications.
• Review complex applications promptly, ensuring compliance with the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act 2024 and Council policies.
• Provide recommendations and exercise delegated legislative decision‑making functions as required.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and compliant written documentation to support decisions and application processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a complex regulatory and licensing environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Proven team‑leadership experience with a focus on business improvement and high performance.
• Relevant qualification (e.g., law, business, management) is highly regarded but not essential.
