Manager, Indigenous Engagement and Community

About the role

We are looking for a passionate Indigenous Engagement and Community Manager to build and nurture relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, Traditional Owners and partner organisations. Reporting to the Head of Delivery Enablement, you will lead engagement initiatives, provide cultural insight and help shape organisational strategy through community‑driven perspectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor Indigenous engagement and inclusion programmes aligned with corporate goals.
• Develop trusted relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, Traditional Owners and relevant organisations.
• Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and increase representation across the profession.
• Support cultural awareness and capability‑building initiatives for staff and members.
• Ensure all engagement activities respect Indigenous protocols and best practice.
• Represent the organisation at community events, forums and stakeholder meetings.
• Travel 4‑6 times per year to regional and remote Indigenous communities for relationship‑building and partnership activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management with Indigenous communities.
• Strong communication, influencing and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• High cultural awareness, professionalism and discretion.
