Manager, External Audit - Global & Private Market

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a Manager in its Audit & Assurance team in Sydney, within the Global and Private Market practice. You will lead complex audits and play a key role in client service, quality and team growth. The team serves multinational, ASX-listed, large private and high net worth clients across Australia, covering core financial audit, IPO readiness and M&A advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion, guiding teams through fieldwork, review and reporting
• Identify risks early, make practical decisions as issues arise and ensure work meets Deloitte's methodology and professional standards
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, building trust and keeping engagements on track
• Manage budgets, timelines and day-to-day engagement progress
• Review work, coach others and help build a supportive team environment with senior leaders and junior team members

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in external audit, with current experience at Manager level
• Experience leading audit engagements and managing teams
• Proven ability to build and manage trusted client relationships
• CA qualification or an equivalent professional qualification

• Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk and professional standards
• Ability to balance delivery, communication and judgement
• Commercial awareness of engagement budgets, timelines and delivery
• Confidence reviewing work, giving feedback and developing others
