Manager, Digital Fraud and Scam Analytics

About the role

ANZ is looking for an experienced leader to shape and execute the digital fraud and scam analytics strategy across its customer and payment channels. This senior position will drive the detection and prevention of fraud while balancing risk, customer experience and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Define and steer the strategic direction for digital fraud and scam analytics across internet banking, mobile banking, payments and other digital channels.
• Own end‑to‑end fraud performance metrics, including losses, detection effectiveness, false positives and customer outcomes.
• Prioritise and manage competing analytics and control initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
• Translate emerging threats and insights into scalable detection and prevention controls.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing analytics team focused on high‑impact outcomes.
• Provide clear, actionable reporting and insights to senior stakeholders.
• Influence senior leaders across Fraud, Digital, Risk and Technology to align strategy and investment.
• Represent ANZ in industry forums and collaborate on digital fraud and scam prevention initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong experience in fraud analytics within digital banking or payments environments.
• Deep understanding of digital fraud and scam typologies across online banking and payment channels.
• Proven track record of setting strategy for fraud detection, analytics or controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with senior audiences.
• Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as SAS, SQL or similar.
• Ability to translate data insights into clear, actionable strategies.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing analysts or small teams.
