Management Accountant – Mining (Sydney)

About the role

This is an opportunity to join an ASX‑listed mining business as it moves towards production in early 2027. Working closely with the CFO and the overseas mine‑site finance team, you will provide management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to help senior leaders understand performance and cost drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports
• Perform budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Analyse production, cost and operational performance
• Monitor key mining metrics such as grades, tonnes, recovery rates and C1/C2 costs
• Support financial modelling and scenario planning
• Partner with mine‑site finance and operational teams to identify risks and opportunities
• Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Required profile

• Experience in management accounting, commercial finance or financial analysis
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis capabilities
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling proficiency
• Commercial mindset with solid analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• CA/CPA/CFA qualification highly regarded
• Mining or resources experience desirable but not essential
