Management Accountant

About the role

We are a national organisation with over 50 years of experience delivering premium soft facility management services across Australia. Based at our Miranda, Sydney head office, we are seeking a detail‑driven Management Accountant to prepare management reports, maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and provide financial insights that support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements, variance analysis and commentary.
• Complete month‑end processes, journals, accruals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Analyse financial performance, costs and trends to aid operational and commercial decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, including payment processing and debtor management.
• Lead and develop the finance team, setting priorities and monitoring performance.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with operational managers to explain results and resolve queries.
• Support audits and continuously improve finance processes and data accuracy.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion.
• Demonstrated experience in management accounting, financial reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Experience supervising finance staff, ideally across accounts payable and receivable.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• High attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to meet competing deadlines.
• Collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders across functions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using accounting systems.
