Maintenance Technician – Hydraulic Hoses (FIFO)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician – Advanced provides high‑level technical support in the Mobile Maintenance Workshop at Fortescue’s Eliwana mine. The role focuses on reliable on‑site hydraulic hose manufacturing, testing and servicing while supporting overall workshop safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture, crimp, assemble, pressure‑test and quality‑check hydraulic hose assemblies to Parker/OEM/site specifications.
• Operate, maintain and organise the hose shed, including fittings inventory, crimp charts and testing equipment.
• Lead small installation and upgrade projects for workshop infrastructure and equipment stations.
• Perform routine inspections and basic repairs of jacks, lifting aids, tooling and other workshop assets.
• Carry out equipment checks, tool store upkeep, material movement (Skid Steer/IT/forklift) and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Mentor and support developing technicians through onboarding and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years’ experience in a maintenance or workshop environment with proven hydraulic hose assembly and crimping skills.
• AURTTA012 certification (preferred) for fabricating and installing fluid‑power hose assemblies.
• C‑Class manual driver’s licence and strong hazard awareness.
• High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF); experience with Skid Steer and Integrated Toolcarrier is highly regarded.
