Maintenance Technician – Burton, SA

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join SGS Australia’s Burton, South Australia site. The role supports equipment reliability, safety and customer satisfaction across our testing and inspection operations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement SGS policies related to tasks.
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
• Carry out equipment repairs to high standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on SGS equipment.
• Prepare equipment for project load‑outs with attention to detail.
• Complete maintenance records, job cards and fault reports.
• Use SGS SharePoint system to obtain and record documentation.
• Prepare equipment for freight and receive incoming freight.
• Liaise with logistics providers for freight movements.
• Conduct stock takes of equipment and support re‑stocking.
• Assist procurement of minor equipment, parts and consumables.
• Operate forklift for day‑to‑day activities.
• Comply with SGS policies and government regulations.
• Report near misses and hazardous situations to supervisor/manager.

Required profile

• Understanding of quality systems and willingness to contribute.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and training.
• Proactive approach to safety and decision‑making.
• Computer literacy and experience with computer‑based systems.
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Current Forklift Licence.
