Maintenance Electrician

About the role

The Maintenance Electrician provides electrical maintenance and production support across manufacturing operations, focusing on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, equipment installation, and continuous improvement. The role works closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Maintain electrical controls of pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying and optical sorting systems, as well as site services such as compressors, chillers and boilers.
• Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes and coordinate with production to minimise downtime.
• Install new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly, including PLC logic, SCADA and I/O troubleshooting.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on critical failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in a similar electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
• Relevant trade qualification as an A‑Class Electrician and certification in electrical safety.
• Experience with latest technology and automation, including PLC, SCADA and Siemens safety control logic.
• Familiarity with Australian Safety Standards and CMMS software.
