Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The Maintenance Coordinator will oversee the upkeep of student apartments, common areas and the building exterior, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents. You will work both independently and as part of a dedicated facilities team, supporting resident wellbeing and responding to emergency issues when required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as lighting checks, minor painting, plastering, carpentry and plumbing repairs across the property.
• Manage soft‑furnishing relocation and ensure the exterior and common areas are kept in good condition.
• Coordinate with external contractors, obtain approvals and monitor work to meet health and safety standards.
• Provide prompt assistance to residents and visitors, communicating effectively with a diverse community.

Required profile

• Positive, can‑do attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Physical capability to move and relocate soft furnishings and respond to after‑hours emergencies.
• Strong communication skills to interact with residents, staff and contractors from varied backgrounds.

Required skills

• Basic occupational health and safety (OH&S) principles and chemical handling.
• Lighting maintenance and replacement.
• Minor painting, plastering, carpentry and plumbing repairs.
