Maintenance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team at FV by Peppers in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The role involves handling a wide range of maintenance, repair and improvement tasks across guest rooms, amenities and communal areas, ensuring the property remains in top condition.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain guest rooms, amenities and shared spaces to a high standard.
• Collaborate with a diverse team while also working independently when required.
• Identify and resolve issues before they escalate, applying innovative solutions.
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance projects across the property.

Required profile

• Physically fit with a "get‑up‑and‑go" attitude and a commitment to completing tasks safely and presentably.
• Prior hands‑on experience in general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing or electrical work (no formal qualification required).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication with managers, guests and contractors.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
