LOTO Coordinator

About the role

The LOTO Coordinator will lead lock‑out/tag‑out and energy isolation activities for the commissioning of the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant. This safety‑critical position works onsite alongside commissioning, construction and HSE teams to ensure safe, compliant isolation of complex mechanical, electrical and process systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise all LOTO and energy isolation tasks across commissioning areas.
• Interpret single‑line diagrams, P&IDs and project specifications to develop isolation plans.
• Develop, maintain and issue LOTO procedures, SWMS and daily isolation plans.
• Manage Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) issuance and control in line with commissioning requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, pre‑commissioning and HSE teams to ensure safe isolation methods.
• Supervise isolation and de‑isolation activities, verifying zero‑energy status.
• Track LOTO devices, locks, tags and related equipment, maintaining stock levels.
• Prepare reports on LOTO activities, isolation status and potential risks.
• Ensure commissioning areas are barricaded and signed prior to energisation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in industrial lock‑out/tag‑out and energy isolation.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, site safety procedures and environmental requirements.
• Ability to lead pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Excellent documentation skills for PTWs, NOEs, CCCs and related records.
