Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist oversees and coordinates external logistics service provider activities and performance across Australia and New Zealand. The role executes the logistics plan across the external logistics network and provides technical support, including SAP transactional activities that underpin logistics work processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and execute logistics operations and lead routine operational and performance reviews with logistics providers
• Support transport and storage goals, investigate incidents and product damage, escalate appropriately and prepare draft reports
• Coordinate export and import activities with freight forwarders, customs brokers and warehouse teams
• Handle routine logistics issues such as damages, part cartons and relabelling, monitor EDI and track logistics metrics
• Maintain SAP master data, record and measure logistics KPIs, and run reverse logistics
• Monitor inventory levels against LSP warehouse capacity, run weekly accuracy checks, lead annual stock takes and reconcile stock
• Manage batch control, FEFO and GAP investigations, and coordinate restocking with planning teams
• Oversee order processing and fulfilment, resolve order issues and optimise freight costs
• Build relationships with suppliers and carriers, support procurement on contracts and review supplier performance
• Plan and optimise transportation routes, schedule shipments and monitor shipment status
• Take part in process improvement, cost-to-serve initiatives and continuous improvement across the supply chain
• Administrative duties include maintaining operational procedures, distributing safety data sheets, overseeing vendor invoices and preparing performance reports

Required profile

• Degree (BS/BA/BCom) in Supply Chain, Business or a technical field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or inventory management
• Proven track record coordinating logistics operations and managing third-party logistics providers
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills
