Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Victoria, BC

About the role

The South Island Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Physicians for locum coverage across major hospitals in Victoria, British Columbia. You will join a large, supportive group delivering full‑service emergency care, including paediatric and trauma cases, in high‑volume centres handling around 60,000 visits annually.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to adult, paediatric and trauma patients on a locum basis.
• Cover scheduled shifts and respond to unscheduled staffing needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in busy emergency departments.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to provincial clinical standards.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible Emergency Medicine physician.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Experience in high‑volume emergency departments, including paediatric and trauma care.
• Flexibility to start as soon as possible and work variable shift patterns.
