Litigation Counsel (In-House)

About the role

This quasi‑in‑house position offers a unique blend of broad commercial litigation work across a family‑owned portfolio of businesses while providing a strong work‑life balance and no billable‑hours targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse range of contentious matters, from Supreme Court cases to general commercial disputes.
• Handle insolvency, enforcement, and recovery matters for various business units.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialised legal areas while leading the core litigation strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents and present arguments in court.
• Liaise directly with senior stakeholders across manufacturing, healthcare, education, professional services and other sectors.

Required profile

• Current NSW practising certificate.
• Proven ability to run complex litigation matters independently.
• Excellent drafting and advocacy skills.
• Confidence to interact with senior business leaders and external law firms.
• Motivation to thrive in a fast‑moving, multi‑industry environment.
