Life Support Senior Technician

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Life Support Senior Technician for its Life Support Section of the Intermediate Level Maintenance (ILM) Facility at RAAF Base Amberley. You will carry out maintenance, inspection, testing, repair and overhaul of life support equipment fitted to the RAAF's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft, supporting the Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program (ACEASP) and keeping aircrew life support systems airworthy and ready.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aeronautical components within ADF Technical and Regulatory airworthiness guidelines.
• Achieve Trade Supervisor authorisation for Life Support component maintenance in the Life Support section.
• Repair and/or bay service repairable items and sub-components of the Aircraft Survival Kit Unit.
• Sew, fabricate and repair aviation life support equipment in line with approved maintenance procedures, including modifications of parts or higher assemblies where required.
• Perform full functional testing of repaired items on test equipment, with a strong focus on safety and production requirements.
• Maintain technical, quality and regulatory compliance with Defence Aviation Safety Regulations and ISO certifications.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aircraft Life Support and Furnishing or a national equivalent.
• Previous experience in aircraft or workshop maintenance.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the ADF Computer Aided Maintenance Management 2 (CAMM2) system.
• Good understanding of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
