Licensing and Rights Officer

About the role

The Licensing and Rights Officer will join the Rights and Distribution team within NFSA Enterprises. The role supports professional access to Australia’s national audiovisual collection through footage sales, theatrical screening loans and distribution partnerships, and provides rights advice and licensing for internal projects and external collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide rights advice and licensing support for NFSA projects and partnership initiatives.
• Assist the Enterprises team in managing footage sales, theatrical screening loans and other distribution activities.
• Identify and implement improvements to the efficiency of rights‑management processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra to ensure compliant use of collection material.

Required profile

• Experience in rights management or licensing within a cultural or media environment.
