LF160 Field Supervisor - Iron Ore Drilling

About the role

DDH1 Drilling, an exploration drilling company serving the mining industry, is looking for an LF160 Field Supervisor. The supervisor acts as a link between several internal departments, client representatives and geologists, using extensive drilling knowledge to help ensure maximum production and core recovery in the safest way. This is a field-based FIFO role with a 2/2 roster.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure duty of care is exercised in all work activities and by all personnel under control
• Make sure everyone complies with HSE regulations, site-specific rules and applicable laws
• Help train trainee drillers and drillers' offsiders in safe working procedures and equipment care
• Understand the drilling program and liaise with the client to complete it successfully
• Apply sound management practices and give direction, leadership and support to drilling and maintenance
• Promote the company positively and maintain a high standard of personal conduct and presentation

Required profile

• 7-10 years of experience in diamond drilling, including iron ore experience
• Previous experience with LF 160 drill rigs and Freedom rod loaders
• Cert IV in Drilling Operations
• Current heavy rigid driver's licence (MC licence highly regarded)
• Current national police clearance, fatigue management training and ICAM or equivalent WHS incident investigation training
• Current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent and Schedule 26 qualifications
• Willingness to travel to remote project sites and work outdoors in all weather

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the Mines Safety Act and Regulations and the WHS Act
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
