Legal Counsel

About the role

Join VALD, a global leader in musculoskeletal technology, as an in‑house Legal Counsel based in Newstead. Working directly with the General Counsel, you will gain exposure to complex commercial contracts, corporate transactions and regulatory matters across data, privacy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with clients, suppliers and partners.
• Provide regulatory advice on data protection, privacy, security and AI compliance for global product delivery.
• Support corporate matters such as acquisitions, employment, IP, leasing, governance and dispute resolution.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, playbooks and efficient service‑delivery processes.
• Collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders and external counsel when required.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a keen interest in commercial and regulatory law.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, well‑reviewed work and see matters through to completion.
• Proactive, curious and comfortable asking thoughtful questions in unfamiliar areas.

Required skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for commercial contracts.
• Understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity and AI regulatory frameworks.
