Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Legal Counsel to join our in‑house legal team in Adelaide. Working closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide commercially focused legal advice to support Bunge’s operations across Australia and New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercially oriented legal advice on a wide range of business contracts.
• Draft and review commercial agreements, including leases and licences.
• Advise on day‑to‑day legal and operational issues as they arise.
• Assist with insurance matters for Australia and New Zealand.
• Support litigation, alternative dispute resolution and debt recovery actions.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors to meet business needs.
• Monitor legislative changes and contribute to legal compliance training.
• Participate in cross‑business internal projects, gaining exposure to different business areas.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualified in law and admitted to practice as a Solicitor in South Australia.
• Up to 5 years post‑admission experience or equivalent capability.
• Experience or exposure to commercial, corporate, property, litigation or regulatory matters.
• Ability to understand and respond to commercial drivers behind business decisions.
• Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders, regulators and external advisers.
• Motivated, proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to adapt legal skills across new practice areas and maintain CPD.

Required skills

• Familiarity with technology and interest in AI‑enabled legal service delivery.
• Experience with insurance matters, construction‑related contracts or in‑house environments (preferred).
