Legal Counsel

About the role

Fleet Space is seeking a Legal Counsel to work alongside the General Counsel on a broad range of legal matters, focusing on international contracts, sales and procurement within the mining and mineral exploration sector. This is a hands‑on, in‑house position in a fast‑moving technology company, offering the chance to manage the full contract lifecycle from drafting to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, supplier, procurement and international agreements.
• Support end‑to‑end procurement processes, conduct risk assessments and manage vendor negotiations.
• Handle non‑disclosure agreements and assist with trademark and intellectual‑property protection.
• Provide legal advice on IP, patent management, employee relations, commercial risk and corporate governance.
• Review grants, research collaborations and partnership agreements.
• Contribute to the enterprise risk‑management framework and report risk exposure.
• Prepare board papers, support governance processes and manage litigation matters.
• Coordinate execution and signing of legal documents across the business and advise on regulatory, export and trade law matters.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of legal experience, with in‑house work essential.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of procurement, risk management and corporate governance.
• Familiarity with intellectual‑property, patent, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively with commercial, engineering and people teams.
