Legal Counsel

About the role

Dicker Data, Australia’s leading ICT distributor, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide commercial‑focused legal support across the business. You will work closely with senior leaders and external partners to protect the company’s interests while enabling growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate vendor, customer, reseller, distribution, service agreements, NDAs and other contracts.
• Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support contract renewals, amendments and variations with relevant business units.
• Engage with internal senior management and external counsel to align legal input with commercial objectives.
• Collaborate with the legal team, including paralegals, to manage workflow and share knowledge.
• Assist with compliance initiatives, internal policies, governance frameworks and risk management.
• Handle ad‑hoc legal matters and manage legal inboxes or workflows as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with a current practising certificate.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate legal concepts into business‑friendly language.
