Legal Counsel – Intellectual Property

About the role

Join Easygo’s fast‑growing tech team in Melbourne as an Intellectual Property Legal Counsel. You will work alongside senior counsel to protect and manage the global trade‑mark portfolio for high‑profile brands such as Kick and Stake.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the group’s global trade‑mark portfolio from filing through registration, including preparing applications and responding to office actions.
• Handle trade‑mark oppositions, enforcement actions and disputes, defending the company’s IP.
• Conduct clearance searches on new names, logos, taglines and campaigns and advise on brand‑protection risks.
• Instruct and manage external trade‑mark agents, foreign associates and IP counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts such as service, licensing, brand‑use, sponsorship and vendor agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice to internal teams on IP, technology, privacy, consumer protection and contractual matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, admitted to practice in Australia with 2‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in trade‑mark prosecution, global portfolio management, oppositions and enforcement.
• Proven ability to review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal English with strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
