Legal Counsel – Construction Law

About the role

Beacon Legal is seeking a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to join the Brisbane office of a leading global engineering and construction firm. This role offers exposure to front‑end construction and project development work across infrastructure, energy and resources sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiation and drafting of a wide range of construction and project‑related contracts.
• Provide legal advice on commercial and regulatory risks for major infrastructure and resources projects.
• Support project, procurement and commercial teams with timely legal guidance.
• Manage external counsel when required and assist with governance and compliance processes.
• Contribute to strategic project delivery and business growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Admission to practice law in Australia.
• 5‑6 years of construction or project experience, preferably from a top‑tier law firm.
• Strong transactional background with exposure to diverse construction contracts.
• Ability to handle both transactional and dispute matters.
• Excellent communication, drafting and problem‑solving abilities.
