Legal Assistant

About the role

The Legal Assistant will support the Pre-Publication & Training and Regulatory, Commercial & Property legal services at the ABC. Working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, you will provide high‑quality administrative and legal assistance under general direction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and administrative support to the Pre‑Publication & Training and RCP teams.
• Maintain files, format correspondence, coordinate billing and manage systems support.
• Manage pre‑publication rosters and allocate media law consultation requests.
• Handle payments for after‑hours shifts and distribute guidance notes to content divisions.
• Design, maintain and update SharePoint and intranet sites for the Pre‑Publication Team.
• Assist with trademark, property matters and legal practice management systems (iManage, billing platforms).
• Update legal templates, guidance documents and intranet content.
• Support training activities, coordinate bookings, track attendance and format presentation materials.
• Organise meetings, travel, visitor access and logistical requirements.
• Share phone roster responsibilities and assist with overflow work.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Sound secretarial experience in a legal environment, including knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
