Lecturer – Teaching & Research in Psychology

About the role

Curtin University's School of Population Health is seeking two full‑time Lecturers to join its Psychology team. The role combines teaching, curriculum development and active research within the Discipline of Psychology, commencing in January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging undergraduate psychology units across face‑to‑face, online and global formats.
• Coordinate units, supervise fourth‑year Honours students and Higher Degree by Research candidates.
• Contribute to curriculum design, course enhancement and academic decision‑making.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain an active research programme, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and seek research funding.
• Participate in academic service, community engagement and uphold university standards.

Required profile

• PhD in Psychology.
• Demonstrated high‑level teaching experience in undergraduate psychology, including unit coordination and Honours supervision.
• Strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice.
• Knowledge of core psychology topics and expertise in areas such as adult development, ethical practice, psychological disorders, therapeutic skills or health motivation.
• Emerging record of peer‑reviewed publications and success in competitive grant applications.
