About the role
The School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Systems. This full‑time, tenure‑track position combines teaching and research on modern computing systems, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality lectures, tutorials and labs in operating systems, distributed systems, system security and AI‑related systems.
- Develop and update curriculum and assessment materials.
- Conduct independent research, publish in reputable venues and attract competitive research funding.
- Supervise honours, Masters and PhD students.
- Engage with industry partners and contribute to the School’s research profile.
Required profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong record of research in modern computing systems (for senior level) or clear potential to build a research programme (for lecturer level).
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
- Ability to obtain external research funding and collaborate across disciplines.
