About the role

The Southern Cross Care Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Aged Care Ethics is a research‑focused academic position based at Australian Catholic University in Brisbane. The role strengthens the partnership between Southern Cross Care Queensland and ACU, supporting the Queensland Bioethics Centre and enhancing ethics expertise across Catholic aged‑care services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead research projects addressing ethical issues in residential aged‑care reform, dementia care, end‑of‑life care, and remote/rural aged‑care communities.
• Design and deliver teaching modules on aged‑care ethics for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Provide public engagement, consultancy, and policy advice to Southern Cross Care Queensland and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with health and aged‑care sectors at federal and state levels to inform ethical practice.
• Contribute to the Queensland Bioethics Centre’s activities, including seminars, workshops, and publications.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Ethics, Bioethics, Health Policy, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated research record in aged‑care ethics or related fields.
• Experience in teaching at university level and supervising students.
• Strong ability to engage with industry, government, and community partners.
• Relevant publications and a clear vision for future research.

• Competitive total remuneration ranging from $142,635 to $222,654 per annum (pro‑rated), dependent on appointment level.
